RAM upgrade to 8MB for Palm V

The Palm V by 3COM is initially sold with 4MB. It has an internal slot for connecting an expansion card. Though you can
do an upgrade by yourself, we recommend
to use the help of many companies which specialize in this work. 3COM itself
now sells 8MB versions of the Palm V too.

In July 2000 a bug in the DRAM refresh routine for 8MB models (Palm IIIxe, Palm IIIc and Palm Vx) was discovered.
Refer to this Palm page for a serial number check if your PDA is involved.
Same bug is affecting Handspring and TRG models using PalmOS.

For a in-depth description of the bug refer to this TRG page.
